Abstract

This article analyzes the social function of the Brazilian public school from the perspective of democratic management and the confrontation of structural violence. Based on bibliographic and exploratory research grounded in critical pedagogy and social theory, it discusses the need to decolonize school management to democratize educational daily life, the "school ground." The lens of intersectionality is used to understand how matrices of domination (racism, sexism, ableism, and LGBTphobia) intersect in the production of exclusion. The results indicate that adopting active methodologies and valuing students' individual trajectories are fundamental strategies for strengthening autonomy, reducing dropout rates, and promoting belonging. It concludes that curricular innovation and pedagogical praxis committed to Human Rights are essential instruments of resistance against ideological offensives and the precariousness of education.
