Abstract

The article describes the perceptions of Mozambican companies about competitive senior human resources technicians. The general objective was to analyse the perception of Mozambican companies of competitive senior human resources technicians. It is a fact that in the face of current socio-economic changes, companies have significantly altered the way they manage senior human resources technicians. There is still a management discourse that is very much centred on valuing the human factor developed by companies. At a theoretical level, there has been increased attention to the importance of people's creative potential as a crucial strategy for companies to adapt to the paradigm shift. The current spread of concepts and theories on intellectual capital, knowledge management and emotional intelligence are a clear example of this increased importance attributed to the human element. The functioning of the economic and social system is far more paradoxical and comple. It shows a multifaceted reality that doesn't always fit into this conceptual approach, nor does it actually correspond to the corporate policies that are being promoted. Instead of the widespread valorisation of human potential, we see the emergence of human resource segmentation practices within companies. With regard to the labour market, although progressive deregulation is often advocated in the name of greater economic flexibility and job creation, the fact is that this diversification of contractual relations has often been associated with a growing precariousness of work and employment relations. Reflection on these multiple movements and contradictions between theoretical assumptions and practices was the basis of this article.
